New Family Time Room

When children enter foster care, the primary goal is always reunification. Scheduled family time allows for children placed out of the home to have supported contact with their parents, while their parents work with DCF and others on the goal of reunification. Staying connected to birth family is vital in maintaining a sense of belonging and identity, even if a child cannot reunify with their parents.

Having to only see your parents in a monitored, office setting is hard on kids and parents alike. Thanks to Safelite and Foster Love, Bridges Homeward received the amazing surprise of a brand-new renovated family room, family dining area and updated bathroom. Our incredible new family room allows for families to feel as if they are in a home like environment. It also allows for parents and children to utilize our space to engage in everyday activities such as reading a story together on a comfortable couch, sitting together and playing pretend cooking, or eating a meal together.

“Safelite has a deep commitment to foster youth and their families and in ensuring they see and feel the respect they deserve. This space conveys such dignity and respect, and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome families to this space.”
