Marissa Lacelle Earns Licensure as Clinical Social Worker

Congratulations to our Family Resource Worker Marissa Lacelle, who recently became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker! Marissa supports our foster parents as they provide the best possible care for youth. Today we recognize her accomplishments.

What is the best part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is hearing a foster parent find the strengths and positives in every kid. All of the kids we care for have potential and when we find the right environment for them to bloom in, it brings my heart so much happiness.

What is the most important thing you have learned so far?

Everything always works out in the end and sometimes we need to take a step back and focus on what we can control and let what we can’t control just play out. Everything is figure-out-able.

If you could snap your fingers and instantly make the world better in one way, what would you change?

I would make education ideal for every single person. If someone hates math but loves art, I would want them to have a whole curriculum that focuses on their strengths while still teaching them the basics that they will need in life. I think if more people had a system that was set up to focus on their strengths, more people would be happier.
