Yoyo Yau, Executive Director

Yoyo came to Bridges Homeward in 2023 from the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, where she was a Chief Program Officer for 13 years. Yoyo is a licensed mental health counselor with a background in early intervention, mental health counseling, gambling addiction counseling, and brain injury recovery. She has worked with non-profits, hospital settings, and state agencies to provide assessment, therapy, treatment, and crisis intervention.  

In 2021, Yoyo was appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to the Addiction Services Subcommittee of the Massachusetts Gaming Policy Advisory Committee. She has served as a steering committee member of the Tisch College Community Research Center at Tufts University since 2022. Yoyo is also an adjunct professor at Lesley University. 

Yoyo holds a BA in social work from Hong Kong Polytechnic University and an MA in Expressive Therapy from Lesley University. She has received post-graduate and leadership training from the Boston Foundation, the Nellie Mae Foundation, the Institute of Non-Profit Management and Leadership at Boston University, and others.
