Executive Director Yoyo Yau Receives Community Visionary Award at 2023 A View from All Sides Conference

We are excited to announce that our Executive Director Yoyo Yau was awarded the Community Visionary Award by our partner The Children’s Trust at their A View from All Sides conference on November 2! The Community Visionary Award recognizes the outstanding work of individuals and organizations that improve the quality of services in their communities through their passion, hard work, leadership, and dedication to helping families and children. A Community Visionary improves and promotes the well-being of their community members by advocating for and implementing services to improve the lives of all families and children.

“The Children’s Trust is honored to recognize Yoyo Yau as the 2023 recipient of the Community Visionary Award for her steadfast work and continued commitment to families across Massachusetts,” said Sarita Rogers, Chief Program Officer at the Children’s Trust who presented Yau with the award. “Her visionary leadership and tireless dedication to supporting families in Massachusetts are an inspiration to us all, and she deserves the highest recognition for her outstanding work.” 

Yau’s career spans from direct services with families to overseeing entire family support systems. As the former Chief Program Officer at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, she partnered with numerous community organizations and the Children’s Trust to ensure family support system provided sensitive, empathic and compassionate services to new Asian immigrants entering the United States. In 2021, she was appointed to the Addiction Services Subcommittee by Governor Charles Baker and is a licensed mental health counselor with a background in early intervention, mental health counseling, and brain injury recovery. She has worked with non-profits, hospitals, and state agencies to provide assessment, therapy, treatment and crisis intervention.
